Photography and imagery help to convey the brand and what we do in a clear cut visual image.
Imagery is a key element of the brand system. We capture real moments with real people, capturing images from real teachers and real customers, doing skills from lessons in pools where their classes take place. This helps to convey our promises to customers and our external values: The happiness, bonding and excitement that users gain from interacting with our brand, hopefully meaning audiences will want to emulate that emotional state by signing up to our services.
Imagery is used across the majority of our collateral as a way to display the emotional state before mentioned as much as possible as that is something that can’t be matched. It is used across adverts, posters, pull up banners, social media, leaflets, flyers, emails and more.
But what makes a good Water Babies image?
Authentic, positive interactions - We want to showcase the best of Water Babies through our brand imagery so making sure our little ones and teachers are happy and enjoying themselves is essential. Make sure to pay close attention to everyone's expression when selecting an image to use.
Clean and simple environments - One of our main archetypes at Water Babies is the caregiver, this means we're supportive, trusted and calming, three things we also want reflected in our imagery. A cluttered or busy background can make an otherwsie calming image become more chaotic and stressful, so we use pools with simple and clean backgrounds for our brand imagery to make sure we're not distracting from the subject and keeping the focus on what we do best in the pool.
Safe environments - Water safety is at the heart of everything we do and we make sure our brand imagery reflects this. This means all skills are performed correctly with the teacher and carer in the right postition and safety measure such as a hand behind the back are always present and clear.
Engaged individuals - This is an important element of our imagery that we also refer to as the 'Triangle of Trust', referring to those awesome moments where you have teacher, carer and baby all in shot and engaged with each ohter showcasing that special relationship our incredible teachers have with their swimmers and their carers.
Diversity - It's important to us as a global franchise business and world leader of industry to be representatative of everyone who works and swims with us. This means we endeavor to capture brand imagery which shows a wide range of diverstity of gender and race, as well as age in carers and teachers alike.
Underwater Imagery - We also use imagery from our signature underwater photoshoots – where the little one is happy, eyes are open, they are placed centrally in the shot and the water is clear.
High Quality - All of our brand imagery is shot and edited to be high quality with a HD resolution to ensure our images are crisp not matter the size or platform they will featured in bith digitaly and in print.
Orientation - When capturing band imagery, it's important to think about where the image may be used as this dictates the orientation we shoot in. It's always best to shoot in landscape with plenty of space around the subject as this allows us to crop the image as needed. For example, you may want to crop in tight to the subject in portrait or square to use on social but you may also need that landscape image with plenty of space in order to add text and information for a print advert or banner.
GDPR Compliance - All of the above comes together to create imagery which reflects the premium quality of our brand, but we can't use the imagery without making sure we comply to GDPR and privacy laws in the EU. We use a media consent from to capture consent for everyone who appears in our brand imagery and regularly review our practise to make sure we are compliant with the rules while making it as easy as possible for our customers.
