What we're looking for

We’re looking for extraordinary people to become part of our family and inspire our next generation of swimmers. And you don’t need to have any previous experience either. Many of our teachers are parents, who caught the bug for teaching when they experienced it for themselves in our classes.

Application process

Step 1: Send us some details about yourself

Find a job listing that you would like to apply for. Follow the instructions and email your application to the relevant email address and we'll be in touch with you about your application.

Step 2: Leave it with us

If your application is successful, we'll invite you for an interview with your local Water Babies business owner.

Step 3: Interview

We have a 3 stage interview process where we get the opportunity to get to know you better, find out what you can bring to this role, give you the opportunity to demonstrate your communication skills and see you in action in a pool. 🥳

Step 4: Training

We'll then go on to provide online learning which covers everything from scientific principles to risk assessments. You'll also have the opportunity to shadow our teachers in real classes to pick up how everything works. Attend a 7 day course where you will explore our program in depth with our tutor team. Finally, you will complete your online work and teach some real lessons to put everything into practice.

  • Click on the ‘Apply Here’ button on this page then fill out the form provided with a few details about yourself and then submit the form to us. We’ll then receive your details on our end and get back to you with more information within seven to ten days! 

  • We’ll aim to complete the interview process within two to four weeks.

  • You have to be eighteen years old to apply to become a Water Babies teacher. 

  • Absolutely. We make sure that all of the personally identifyable information that you provide is used and stored securely. 

  • The online form takes about 20 minutes to complete, so grab a cuppa before you get going.

  • We aim to respond to your application as soon as possible, which is usually within 7-10 days of receiving your online application form. Unlike a lot of companies, we’ll make sure to respond to your application even if you’re unsuccessful at this time. 

  • Yes, you can re-apply but be sure to fill out another one of our online forms here. 

  • There’s always room to progress at Water Babies, whether that means growing your career to become an official mentor and lead your own training classes or even buy your own Water Babies franchise. In fact, most of our franchisees began as Water Babies teachers. 

  • Our teachers will attend both a ‘wet’ and ‘dry’ interview based on a series of skills related assessments and interviews. They then go on to complete online learning and spend a minimum of ten hours shadowing a range of teachers and lessons in many locations. Our teachers will then dive into an 7 day course to explore the programme in depth and learn about child development, strokes and skills. Lastly, they will complete further online learning and teach a range of supervised classes to put everything into practice.
